Sally Annette
Lackey
Apr 13, 1961 — Oct 16, 2023
Our beloved Sally passed away on Monday, October 16 th, 2023 at Sacred Heart Hospital, in Spokane, WA.
Sally Annette Gall Lackey was born April 13, 1961, in Kankakee, Illinois to William "Bill" and Patricia Gall. Sally's family moved from Illinois to Spokane in 1966 where she grew up with her two brothers, David and Tim. She attended Shadle Park High School graduating in 1979. After graduation, she joined the Army for a year and then started a career at US Bank.
While Sally was working at US Bank, she met the man who would become her husband, Paul. Paul and Sally were married on September 7th, 1991. They moved to Elk, WA in 1995 where, together, they built their home and raised their family of 3 children: Jayme, Andrea and Ben. Sally was a very kind and loving lady. Her passions included sewing, quilting, gardening. camping and fishing.
In the summertime, you could find her outside in her gardens and yard. She had a pretty little pond with a trickling waterfall that could be heard through the open windows of her inviting and comfortable home. Her thriving garden was full of fruits and vegetables that never went to waste. Sally loved to can and preserve her crops for future use and to share with her family and friends. Another of her favorite things to do in the summer was camping and fishing. In the chilly months, you could find Sally in her sewing room. Sally loved to sew, and she created the most beautiful quilts. She loved to quilt for others and her creative touch won awards at shows.
But Sally's greatest passion was her family. She was so proud of each of her children and boasted about their achievements any chance she got. Her grandchildren were the center of her world! There could not have been a prouder Mimi. She truly cherished the times she was able to spend with any of her adorable grandbabies. By far, Sally's greatest love was the love she had for her husband of 32 years. Her devotion to Paul was never ending and she was by his side each day. Whether it be getting up at 4:00 in the morning to make coffee to send him off to work, splitting and hauling firewood, or handing him the tool needed to fix something…She was his partner in life.
A tribute to her life wouldn't be completed without mentioning her love for her furry kids. She loved having her dogs to spend the sometimes, long days with - Walt and Steve are missing her already.
Sally was preceded in death by her father, Bill; her brother, Michael; and her Aunt Carol. Sally is survived by her husband, Paul; their daughters, Jayme (Justin) and Andrea (Brett); and their son, Ben (Emily); her grandchildren, Charlie, Cambry, Baron. Penny. Wyatt and Ellie; her mother, Pat; brothers David (Laura) and Tim (Colleen). Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
We love you Sally. We will feel your absence forever - you will be missed dearly!
