Robert Mitchell McDowall was born August 19, 1937, in Beaver Mines, Alberta, Canada, to Hector McDowall and Lenora Hansen, and died January 4, 2024, in Spokane, WA at home.

At age five, the family moved from Canada to California, lived shortly in Oregon, then settled in Moses Lake, WA, where he was raised on a dairy farm. He graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1955. In 1956, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving for two years. After the military, he moved to Ritzville, WA, where he met his wife of sixty-four years, Marilyn Miller. They married in 1959. They welcomed their son, Robert, in 1961, and daughter, Linda, in 1963. In 1965, they moved to Deer Park where Bob enjoyed haying and raising animals on the new family farm. Darlene joined the family in 1971. That same year, Bob, graduated with his broker's license and opened Independent Realty which he operated for approximately twenty-five years. Their last daughter, Bonnie, was born in 1973. Bob loved his family, was passionate about hunting, fishing and rock hounding, as well as, time in the mountains getting firewood and huckleberries. In 1966, Bob made the life changing decision to ask Jesus Christ to be his personal Savior. For the last twenty-three years, Bob suffered a slow decline due to dementia. He is now whole and healthy, walking with his Savior in the glories of heaven.

Surviving Family-Wife: Marilyn McDowall. Son: Robert McDowall (Cindy). Daughters: Linda Ziehnert (Rick), Darlene Morehouse (Keith), Bonnie Staub (Josh). Grandchildren: Nathan Ziehnert (Rachel), Ryan Ziehnert, Aryn Ziehnert, Jared McDowall, Katie McDowall, Josh McDowall, Tenaya Morehouse, Nolan Morehouse, Wade Morehouse, Mia Staub, and Eli Staub. Great Grandchildren: Logan, Mariah and Jonathan Ziehnert. Brother: Don McDowall (Barbara). Sister: Marjorie Claiborne. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his father: Hector McDowall,  mother: Lenora Hansen,  brother: Harry McDowall (Arlene) and brother-in-law: Harvey Claiborne.
