Richard Johnson, 81, of Deer Park, Washington, passed Wednesday, July 04, 2018 in Pocatello, Idaho. Richard was born to Chester A. Johnson and Antoinette M. Secor on May 11, 1937 in Spokane, Washington.

Richard attended Deer Park High School and received his high school diploma in 1957 while serving in the United States Navy. He married Judith Jane Yonts in 1959 in Azusa, California and they made their home in Washington, Alaska and California. Richard worked for the J. C. Penney Company where He started as a mechanic and retired as the Operations and Personnel Manager in Redding, California. He attended the University of Alaska-Fairbanks where he studied Business Management. Richard and Judith retired to Deer Park, Washington; Richard's boyhood home. He attended St. Mary Presentation Catholic Church in Deer Park, Washington and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers as well as the San Francisco Giants.

Richard served proudly in the United States Navy as a Yeoman Third Class with the Pacific Fleet from 1954 to 1958 with ports of call at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and numerous other ports in the Pacific. He was awarded the Navy Good Conduct Medal.

Richard was preceded in death by his grandson, Bryce Johnson, and son, Martin Scott Johnson. He is survived by his three remaining children: Michael Joel Johnson of Redding, California, Laura Lee Smith of Kempner, Texas, and Diana Marie Johnson of Eureka, California. Richard is also survived by twelve grandchildren and many great grandchildren who he loved dearly
