Obituary

Patricia Robin Nagy, known to most as Patty, was born December 11th 1963 to Ray and Rita Nagy in Rook Springs, Wyoming. She lived with family in Green River, Wyoming until moving to Lynnwood, Washington in 1966. She lived in multiple places throughout Washington state, until she and her family settled in the Riverside Community, just north of Spokane, in 1974. There she attended Riverside Middle School and then High School, graduating in 1982 as valedictorian of her class. Patty attended Eastern Washington University, graduating in 1989 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.

In 1986 she was diagnosed with MS and shortly after was disabled, bound to a wheelchair. She lived with family in those early years, until she met and eventually moved in with her lifelong caregiver and constant companion, Bill Cain. There she resided until her passing on November 28th 2024, at Sacred Heart hospital.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Rita Nagy. She is survived by her siblings Jim Nagy, Bob (Debra) Nagy and Sandy (Jim) Lerch. As well as 7 nieces and nephews and 25 great nieces and nephews.

During her years, Patty was an active member of the MS Society and reunion coordinator of the Riverside class of 1982. She loved to spend her time playing games and doing crafts with family and friends, and rarely missed a Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune.

She was known by many names over the years; daughter, sister, friend, aunt, and even honorary mother and grandmother to some. She befriended anyone who needed a friend, without prejudice or judgment and always rooted for the underdog. She was a leader and planner in any group she was a part of. She lit up any room with her presence and was a mediator and calming presence in any tense situation. She was rarely seen angry and always saw the best in people and the best in any tough circumstances. Her positive attitude and outlook on life, no matter what was thrown her way, was an inspiration to anyone who met her. Patty was loved by so many and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
