Milo "Mike" DeJong, 86, of Deer Park, Washington went to his heavenly home on the evening of Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025. Milo was born November 30, 1938 in Maurice, Iowa, the son of Dick and Gertrude (Schreur) DeJong. He was raised in Maurice and graduated from Maurice High School. On December 4, 1959, Milo married Neva Jean DeJager, also of Maurice. The newlyweds moved to Glendale, Arizona where Milo was a "Pepsi Man". They raised four children there. Life was filled with boating, motorcycle riding and camping with their church friends.

Milo and Neva Jean then moved to Colfax, Washington where they established a family home for 30 years. They enjoyed trips to Iowa and other vacations in the West. After Milo retired from WSDOT as a Sign Tech, he and Neva Jean moved to Gifford, Washington where they built a home overlooking Lake Roosevelt. Milo especially loved sitting on the deck watching the wildlife and sunsets.

In his final year, Milo moved with Neva Jean to Deer Park, Washington to be closer to family. Throughout his life, Milo was active in his church and served in leadership. His faith was a testimony to his family. To the end of his days, Milo remained a faithful husband and a man of virtue, living by the rule of gentleness, honesty, patience and restraint with words. Such were the expressions of his love.

Milo is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, four children: Tammy DeJong, Terri Sprague, Todd DeJong and Michelle and her husband Donald Gibson; four grandchildren: Michael Sprague and wife Chelsea, Samuel Gibson, Brandon Gibson and Hannah Gibson; great grandchildren: Lincoln, Logan, Winston and Bryson Sprague; and his sister Nelvina Wissink.

In addition to his parents, Milo was preceded in death by his sister Greta DeZeeuw and her husband John; his three brothers: Pierce DeJong and wife Alma, John DeJong and his wife Leola and Nelson DeJong; brother-in-law Gerald Wissink; daughter-in-law Teriseta DeJong and his grandson Karl Sprague.

A service celebrating Milo's life will be held at 10:00am on May17, 2025 at Grace Church in Deer Park, Washington. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the INW Dyslexia Alliance at inwdyslexia.org.
