Michael Gordon Field was born in Spokane, Washington on August 26, 1947. He passed away surrounded by his loving wife and family on September 12, 2022. Michael lived his life in Valley, Washington till his graduation from Mary Walker High School in Springdale, Washington. During his youth he enjoyed playing football, baseball and basketball on the school teams. He also spent much of his time helping his family on their dairy farm.

Michael joined the US Marines and served as a mortar operator during his 13 months in Vietnam. He served in the military for 4 years and was honorably discharged as a corporal. Michael was extremely proud to be a Marine and of serving his country during those difficult times.

After his military service, Michael settled in Loon Lake, Washington where he bought an old gas station and cafe and renovated it to Mike's Place Tavern. He ran a successful business and was well liked and respected by his local area customers. After Michael sold the tavern, he became a truck driver and retired from Star Rentals where he delivered equipment to construction sites and residential customers.

Michael was blessed to have been father to two sons and one daughter. He enjoyed spending as much time with them and his grandchildren as he could. He loved cooking big family dinners and enjoyed having the entire family together during the holidays and for summer family reunions. He enjoyed watching Gonzaga Basketball and had season tickets to the Gonzaga Women's games. Michael also enjoyed traveling with close friends to Las Vegas, Nevada to watch the WCC Basketball Tournament games.

Michael was preceded in death by his brothers Gene, Bryce and Delbert. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Donna Field; sons Donald Field (Kim) and Dustin Field (Stephanie) and his daughter Susan Hergert (Mitch), as well as 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and 1 great-granddaughter who is expected in November. He is also survived by his sisters Elaine Fauconnier, Grace Johnson and Ellen VanVliet as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
