Matthew
Warriner
Sep 2, 1990 — Dec 11, 2021
|
Matthew Warriner was born September 2, 1990, in Mountain View, CA to Donald & Cheryl Warriner. In his younger years, Matthew's dad was in the Navy, and his family lived in several places along the Western Coast of the Unites States. One place that his family was stationed at was Whidbey Island. It was here that I had the awesome opportunity to spend the summer with his family. At the time, I was almost 16 and Matthew was just a little guy, but together we got to experience one of places that meant so many things to Matt – Disneyland. Disney was such a magical place because Matt's mom Cheryl loved it so very much. She passed this love on to him and he in turn passed this on to his son. Justthis week, Tarrence asked if we could watch his dad's favorite show, "Lady and the Tramp." To most that might seem silly, but to anyone who knew Matt, or his mom, knows how much that meant to him. |

As Matthew grew into a man, he faced many heartaches, and challenges. Many of those heartaches and challenges were of Matt's own making, and he would be the first one to tell you that. But one of the most beautiful things I have seen in my life was to see Matt's life transformed. When Matt moved back to the Tri-Cities in 2020, we saw a man who had found a passion for the Lord, and a man who had found his purpose for his life - his son Tarrence. Matthew strived to be a father that Tarrence could look up to. He so desperately wanted to impart to Tarrence his love for the Lord, and how a man should be and act. We watched as Matthew mended broken bridges, climbed mountains, and loved so deeply.Matthew's life can be summed up in this phrase, "FINISHED WELL." Matthew did not let the past define him, but strove to leave a legacy of honor, in this, we can truly say that he FINISHED WELL. Matthew is preceded in death by his mother Cheryl Warriner, his grandparents Marvin & Ruth Ann Meltabarger and LaVerne & Helen Warriner and Uncle Anthony Meltabarger. He is survived by his son, Tarrence Warriner, his father and stepmother Donald & Kimberley Warriner, brother Michael and sister-in-law Jessica, sister, Harlee Grace Warriner, his. As well as his stepbrother and sister-in-law Taurean Sr. & Yohani Ortiz, Stepsisters and brothers in law: Kessi & Jason Clark & Mia & Jake Holmen. There are many uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends throughout the US who also loved Matt dearly. |
