Obituary

Matthew Robert Hickman, age 40, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family. Matt lived a life filled with love, laughter, and quiet strength, leaving a lasting imprint on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on May 23, 1985, in Spokane, Washington, Matt grew up in Deer Park, Washington, where he built lifelong friendships and memories. He graduated from Deer Park High School in 2004 and later worked as an HVAC technician.

Matt was the beloved son of Sherri and Brett Hickman and a devoted father to his greatest joys, Seth Hickman, Wyatt Hickman, and Emily Hickman. Being a father was one of the most meaningful and cherished roles of his life.

He was a loving brother to Josh Hickman (Shannon Hickman) and Katie Bond (TJ Bond), and a proud uncle to his nephews Allen Hickman and Thomas Bond, and his nieces Alexis Hickman and Lily Bond.

Matt found happiness in the outdoors and in togetherness. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with friends and family. He was also a loyal Chicago Bears fan, never missing a chance to cheer them on. He was known for his kind heart, warm humor, infectious smile, unforgettable laugh, and for giving the very best hugs—the kind that made you feel safe, loved, and at home.

Matt's life was defined not by how long it lasted, but by how deeply he loved. His memory will live on through his children, his family, and the many lives he touched.
