Obituary

On Saturday, June 25, 2022 Marilyn Jeanette (Meyer) Reilly passed away at the age of 84. Marilyn was born February 13, 1938 at Loon Lake, Washington to George and Rosa (Fox) Meyer in the family home. She attended Loon Lake and then Deer Park schools before continuing her studies at Holy Names College in Spokane. Marilyn married Fay Reilly on August 20, 1960. She taught in Deer Park schools for several years before working full time as the office manager at her husband's auto freight business. Marilyn managed the office while raising their three children: Joe, Bob and Linda.

Marilyn believed in the strength of her community and the value of education as evidenced in her high school scholarship donations and supporting her local Friends of the Library. She was a familiar face at local events such as Settler's Day, Deer Park/Clayton Fair and Clayton Brickyard Days, always ready to lend a hand where needed. She was friendly and talkative, and liked to know what was happening in her town and surrounding area. Considered by many to be a well informed resident, she was often the one people turned to for local updates. If there was someone new in town, she had likely already made their acquaintance.

Marilyn will be greatly missed by her many friends, but especially her children Joe Reilly (Joyce), Bob Reilly (Marcie), Linda Reilly (Art), granddaughters Whitney and Taylor Reilly and Rosa and Mary Nelson as well as great-granddaughter Tatum Radezky, brothers-in law Jim and Floyd Reilly, sisters-in-law Karen Meyer and Barbara Reilly as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She joins her husband, Fay, and parents George and Rosa, as well as brothers Clifford and Don in eternal life.

A Rosary service will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 10:00am followed immediately by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 602 East 6th Street, Deer Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clayton/Deer Park Historical Society.
