On October 27, 2018 Les passed peacefully at Hospice House North after a two-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Les was born March 29, 1938 to Alex and Hanna Longhofer. He was the oldest of two children. Les is survived by his wife Lillian and three sons: Dayton, William (Kim) and Jeffrey (Traci), all of Spokane, WA. He is also survived four granddaughters, one grandson, eight great grandchildren, his sister Barbara (Joel) Derketsch and two nieces, all from Georgia.

Many family boating and camping trips were enjoyed, as well as yearly salmon fishing trips on the Washington coast. Les' other leisure pastimes were golfing, snowmobiling, motorcycling and traveling. He loved spending with his extended family (sister and brothers-in-law and his many nieces and nephews) and many special friends at barbecues, birthdays, dinners, lunches and pool parties at the "garage-mahal". He loved them all and we will all miss him.

Les worked 40 years in the automotive industry, primarily at Camp Chevrolet and Wendle Ford, as a service manager. During this time he met many people, leading to several new and lasting friendships. He was a very social person and enjoyed being with people. Les never met a stranger.

The family would like to express thanks and gratitude to the staff at Hospice House North. They helped ease our stress and gave us peace as Les travelled on to his final destination. You have new frontiers to explore and many family and friends to rejoice with. We love you and miss you.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 11, 2018 in the club house at Contempo Mobile Home Park (1211 E. Lyons, Spokane, WA). Please join us to celebrate Les' life.
