LeRoy Albert Riehle passed into the arms of his Savior, at the of age 81, on December 16, 2022 at the family home in Deer Park, WA after a five-year battle with PSP—Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was born in Davenport, WA on May 18, 1941 to parents Albert and Pauline Riehle  He spent his childhood on a farm in Oregon City, OR.  The family relocated to the Deer Park, WA area where he graduated from Deer Park High School in 1959.  LeRoy married Suzanne Koehler on August 10, 1962.  Together they had three children—Glenn/Joie Riehle, Terri/David Szydel and Georgia Riehle.   He later married Sally (Sandy) Payne on March 5, 1988.

LeRoy is survived by his wife of 34 years Sandy, children, brothers Harry, Darrel and Dennis and sister Josephine Kirkpatrick, seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Suzanne, brother Wallace and daughter-in-law Bonnie Riehle.

After high school LeRoy drove school bus for 3 years and then started at the Deer Park sawmill in September 1962.  LeRoy then had a 34 year long career with USDA Soil Conservation Service where he retired as a Soil Conservation Technician. He and Sandy raised registered Nubian goats.  They showed their goats at fairs and goat shows earning many awards.  After retirement, LeRoy designed, welded and built milking platforms and feeders.  There wasn't much LeRoy couldn't do or repair.  He was a member of Happy Home Community Church. LeRoy was a 25 year leader for the Pine Rose 4-H club, passing on his knowledge and love of goats to children as well as adults.  LeRoy will be missed but not forgotten by those whose lives he touched.
