Jerry Terhaar's Obituary
Our beloved Jerome (Jerry) Ray Terhaar went to rest with our Heavenly Father on April 28 th , 2021 at his home in Deer Park, WA. Jerry was born in Spokane, WA on October 30 th , 1936 to John and Gertrude Terhaar. He attended Gonzaga Prep High School and graduated in 1954. He was a baseball player and preferred to be on the pitching mound for his position. After graduation he went on to pursue his career in roofing and sheet metal work. He found the love of his life in 1968, Betty Lou Gennett and they were married September 5 th , 1970. They built a life together in Spokane WA and later moved to Deer Park in 1992. Jerry enjoyed golfing as his number one pastime when he retired in 1997. He also enjoyed spending time with family, cutting firewood (no really he loved it), gardening and his animals.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Gertrude Terhaar, his brothers Don Terhaar, Marvin Terhaar, Jay Terhaar and Richard Terhaar. His sister, Barbara (Terhaar) Stragier, his son Dennis (Gunner) Terhaar, his daughters Geraldine (Missy) Seybold and Teresa (Tinker) Jones. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Terhaar, two sisters, Sarah Grayboyes and Rita Doran, his son Kelly Terhaar, grandchildren Kelsey Helm, Matt Seybold, Gunner Terhaar, Hunter Terhaar, Chelsea Hensley along with many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by many but had an impact on all those who met him. His Rosary service will be Friday May 7 th at 6:00 pm at St. Mary's Presentation in Deer Park, WA.
