Obituary

Jay Lindh was born in Deer Park, Washington, the only child of Don and Marilyn Lindh. He had a wonderful childhood growing up in the Deer Park-Clayton community. He loved playing with his neighborhood friends and riding his bike and dirt bike. In high school, he enjoyed extra curricular activities including debate and drama. Jay graduated from Deer Park High School and went on to Washington State University. He often commented that his time at WSU was the best four years of his life. Jay made many lifelong friends there and developed a great love for WSU football. He was on the debate team and participated in Readers Theater Drama. Jay graduated from WSU with a degree in Political Science. His next great adventure was at Gonzaga Law School. Gonzaga was a great challenge, but he studied hard, played hard and passed his bar exam, going on to practice law in Seattle, Yakima and Deer Park.

Jay and Amy were schoolmates and dear friends for many years, marrying in 1991. They had two wonderful sons, Dane and Drew. Jay was an amazing husband and father. He loved raising his boys and spending as much time with his family as possible. His greatest joy came from supporting and caring for them. Jay was active in the Deer Park community and participated in many church and community events. He was Deer Park Kiwanis president for several years and helped with Winterfest, Settlers Days, Bike Helmet Giveaways, and other events to support the community. Whenever Jay had to do any public speaking, in the planning stages, he would say, “leave them wanting more”. He has certainly left us wanting more.

Jay had a deep, strong faith. He taught bible classes in Yakima and Deer Park. His faith sustained him through many difficult medical issues including heart problems, diabetes, dialysis, and double amputation of his legs. Through it all, Jay relied on God every moment. He had a special interest in eschatology and was very excited for future Christian biblical events.

Jay died unexpectedly at the age of 65. He is survived by his wife Amy and sons Dane and Drew (fianceé Ashlyn). In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Open Door Congregational Church in Deer Park. Funds will go to improving their wheelchair door access.

A memorial service celebrating Jay’s life will be held at the Open Door Congregational Church on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026 at 2:00pm. To view and sign Jay’s online guestbook please visit www.lauerfuneral.com.
