Jackie Lorraine (Hunt) West 75, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer, on April 2, 2024, at her son's home in Loon Lake, WA, with family at her side.
Jackie was born September 25th, 1948, in Port Angeles, WA to Clayton and Barbara (Optiz) Hunt, she was the 2nd of 4 children. Gary (deceased), Jackie, Christine, and Craig.  The Hunt family then moved to Bisbee, AZ in 1951, to Birch Bay, WA in 1953 and back to Port Angeles in1965 for her senior year of high school, graduating 1966.
Thereafter, Jackie attended Dental Assisting School in San Francisco. Upon returning home Jackie met Mike West in Port Angeles, married, and had two sons, settling in Bothell, WA.
After divorce and her sons grown Jackie embarked on an adventurous career in Alaska working at remote construction sites for Bearing Pacific in a variety of roles building schools, airports, and other heavy construction improvements.   For twenty years she assumed roles as an on/off road truck driver, heavy equipment operator, camp chef, etc., retiring in Deer Park, WA to work part time wintering in Bisbee, AZ.
Jackie was a remarkably resilient person who loved her family, friends, and working in her yard, gardening with her dahlias, honeybees, and berry bushes.  She was a generous person sharing her homemade goods:  breads, honey, canned fruit of peaches, lemon curd and much more.
Jackie is survived by both sons Jason (Karen) and Ryan (Julie), four grandchildren Riley, Paige, Ava, and Piper. Three great grandchildren Everett, Carter, and Simon. A sister Christine and brother Craig, and many beloved friends and family members.
Jackie chose no memorial and requested that her ashes be spread in the Pacific Ocean with her father, Clayton, and beloved passed pet, Lucy.
She will be dearly missed, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter of your choice.
