Dorine Nordhagen blessed us with 101 remarkable years of good health and a sharp mind. She stood as the last of her generation, carrying their legacy with grace and unwavering poise. She was born in Chattaroy, Washington, to Thomas Earl Haile and Annie Nancy Haile. In 1942 she married Clifford Nordhagen, who preceded her in death, and has two surviving children, Sherilyn (Dr. Stephen F.) Renner and David (Joan) Nordhagen. David and Joan have two children: daughter Natalie Nordhagen (Ty) McConnell and great granddaughter Addilyn Anne McConnell and great grandson Ryker Fox McConnell; son Jonathan (Trish) Nordhagen and great grandson Carter David Nordhagen.

Dorine graduated from Riverside High School as Valedictorian and worked in the Officers' Mess Hall for the Vancouver Barracks in Vancouver, WA, while her husband was in the United States Army during World War II.  Although she was only 18, the captain always asked specifically for her to cook his breakfast.  Thus, her fabulous cooking abilities were initiated.  Her secret to a long life was to always have cookies in the jar and coffee on. Grandma was the ultimate hostess. With open arms, a radiant smile, and a table full of home-cooked meals, she made every visitor feel at home and special. Her door was always open, and she welcomed all as family.  Dorine was a gentle soul, a loyal wife, a wonderful mother, and the truest "Grandma." Her absence leaves a deep sorrow, but the sweet memories she gave us will be treasured forever.
