Obituary

Clara) Marie Bayley went to heaven on April 5, 2021.  She was a precious daughter of God, born on October 30,,1922, to Ralph and Myra (Gray) Foster in La Mesa, CA.  she was predeceased by her parents, her husband Leonard, two sisters (Lois Sanders and Betty Foster) , and a great grandson Dorian Miller.  Marie leaves behind her 3 children Carol Gillespie (Maynard), Len Jr (Annie), and Barby Jackson (Steve); 6 grandchildren Ellie Gillespie (Carl Miller), Andy Gillespie (Amy), Matt Bayley (Keri), Sara Dreher (Tony), Christy Clark (Shawn), and Davy Jackson (Allura); 18 great grandchildren Tia Gillespie (Ray Fisco), Andrew Miller, Ben and Jack Gillespie, Jake, Max, and Lila Selden, Jonathan and Jordan Bayley, Carissa Haney (Adam), Quinlan Jordan, Ava Dreher, Alyssa Taylor (Brodie), Courtlynn and Bethanny Clark, Kylie and Caleb Jackson, and 3 great-great grandchildren Colton Johnson, Lola Taylor and Baby Haney (due any day).  Marie is also survived by her sister-in-law Wilma Bayley and many nieces and nephews.
Marie met her husband Leonard during WW2 and although he was not in the military when they met, he joined the Navy before the war was over.  They were married nearly 66 years when he passed in 2009.  Marie was happiest when she was raising her children and she carried that love of children to her jobs as secretary at Mead and later, Riverside High Schools.  Marie and Len spent many happy summers at Priest Lake where they had a large cabin and were able to host many friends and family.  After they retired, they travelled in their motorhome, with friends and family to fishing spots along the Washington and Oregon coast, down to Arizona, and a dream trip up to Alaska.  Marie was excited to meet every grandchild, great grandchild, and garet-great grandchild and felt blessed to spend time with them.  She became the 'prayer warrior" of the family and shared her love of God with all of them.
Marie was a long time member of Chattaroy Community Church, only leaving when they moved from their Chattaroy farm to become residents of Fairwood Retirement Village in 2003.  Marie loved the Lord and shared that love, witnessing to most people she met.  She was blessed to be wonderfully taken care of at Fairwood Assisted Living by Laurel, who became a beloved friend, and others.  She also received wonderful care from Horizon Hospice.  Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday April 9, 2021, at Chattaroy Community Church, 3711 E. Chattaroy Rd, Chattaroy, WA.
