In loving memory of our wife and mother, Bessie Laurin Porter, who passed away on December 25, 2023; at the age of 92.   She was the devoted wife of Don and loving mother of Paige, Craig, Paul, Matt, Gail, and Russell.  Bessie was proud of her 30 grandchildren and even more great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Growing up, Bessie was always there for us, whether we needed help with our homework or just a friend to talk to. She was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. As a grandmother to her family and a proxy grandma to the students in the University of Colorado Pharmacy College she earned her B.S. in Pharmacy.  As a show of their love and respect for her, they gave her a standing ovation during the commencement exercises. One of her lifetime goals was to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She was able to serve 3 missions with her beloved companion, Don. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to.
Mother, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
