Barbara Louise (Collins) Shaw was born in Carbondale, Colorado March 9, 1934, and passed away in her home on June 24, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnie and Dorothy Collins; her husband of nearly 41 years, Lonnie Dean Shaw; her sisters Patricia Jean Collins Williams, Carol Collins Engle, Leah Collins Ratliff, Joyce Collins Dvorak, her brother Don Collins, and son-in-law Michael Guy Sessions.  She is survived by her children, Karen Denise Shaw Sessions, Kevin Dean Shaw, Laura Shaw Roberts, and Michael Jay Shaw and her youngest brother Edwin Collins (Annette).  We are very thankful for the care and love of Mom's partner of 27 years, Jerry (John Robert) Waseca (from Loon Lake).

Mom adored her granddaughters, Kristin Shaw Davis (JB), Allison Roberts Armitage (T.J.), Lisa Shaw, Jessica Davis Roberts (Brenton), Amanda Shaw (Jake), Megan Roberts (Kasie), Elizabeth Shaw Harris (Brendan), Jordan Roberts (Jacob) and her fourteen great grandchildren Paige, Peyton, Piper, Porter, Owen, Griffin, Jefferson, Madeline, Weston, McKinley, Brock, Olivia, Mia, and Jackson.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews from the Shaw side and the Collins side! Barbara lived a full, happy life. After high school Barbara worked in Spokane at Western Union for two years.  She married Lonnie Shaw from Springdale in 1954.  Lonnie was in road construction for the first eight years of their marriage.  In 1961 when their oldest child started school they moved back to Deer Park.  In 1967 they bought the old Southwood home on East Crawford where Barbara had worked cleaning house and ironing in high school.  Barbara's goal in life was to get married and raise a family and she fulfilled that dream!  She and Lonnie raised four children and then eight granddaughters came along.  Barbara worked part-time t a fabric store and served as city clerk of Deer Park for two years.  In 1989 they sold their interest in L & M Truck Sales, which Lonnie had started in 1968 with a partner.  After they retired they had six wonderful years in which they travelled and had great adventures.  A table in the Turf Club at Playfair horse Racetrack led to the fun of gambling at nearly every stop on every trip.  She loved jigsaw puzzles these last years and was an excellent bridge player for many, many years.

Barbara was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed gardening, golfing, crocheting, knitting, bowling, and was an avid reader.  Many times a prom dress was in its final stage as a young man was waiting in the living room and an anxious daughter was constantly saying "MOM! HURRY!"

Barbara felt lucky to have a large family and many wonderful friends here and in Arizona.   She and Dad, and then she and Jerry, had wonderful, fun times in Deer Park and Arizona.
